DV Interview: Friend wants to add spouse

There is this guy who is already scheduled for interview in September 2009. At the time of completing the form, he was not yet legally married. Now he is, he wants to know what exactly he must, or forms to file, etc? Is that even posible?

What should I tell this guy??? Thanks

As far as I know that is possible, but they probable will ask for proof that the relationship isn't made up after the GC lotery was won. They want to have proof of a longer relationship...pics. with dates and anything else that can proof the relationship hasn't recently started and just got married to get an additional GC.

Thanks very much. I think the question now is, what steps does he has to take to make it happen? Is there a form to complete to make this change? Does he needs to convey the information about his new marital status to Kentucky before the interview date? Just what are the steps to get this process forward? His marriage is legit not done for the purposes of getting DV benefits..Thanks

Definitely possible. I have a friend who did exactly the same thing and had no problems. The important thing is just to make sure everything is done before the interview. Is he having his interview at an overseas consulate? if so then I would suggest he contacts them as soon as possible to explain the situation, they will be able to tell him exactly what he needs to do.

Thanks guys for your useful suggestions. Cheers.
Hi Friend , all that the guys said is correct but in addition, write a letter to KCC informing them about a change in your marital status download the the ds 230 form and fill it attach photocopy of your marrige cerficate and your spouse scan photo to Kcc and you will receive a massage from them .I did the same and was updated I am for interview in first week of August
Case num:2009AF00056***

Ask KCC if you should send the papers (DS-230, marriage cert.) to them. Normally, the case is no longer under control of KCC once the interview date was scheduled.
