DV 2026 - Married last name question

Hi all,

I want to fill the DV-2026 form and have a question,

I have married in July and haven't changed the last name yet.
I intend changing it in the following months, but i'm worried that if i fill the form now with my maiden last name and then change all my documentation my enty can be disqualified, can it happen ?
Someone knows for sure if changing last name can can affect the entry ?
 
You fill and submit your entry based on the name listed on your current passport. If you subsequently get selected and have already changed your name by then, there will be a section on the DS260 for listing other names used in the past.

The important thing is to ensure you correctly list your marital status.

p.s. if you change your last name, there’s no way you’ll be able to change the name on all your documentation. Your birth certificate will still contain your maiden name, your school certificate(s)/diploma(s) issued in the past will still contain the previous name.
