DV-2022 Highest level of educational qualifications completed

Hi there,
I have a question concerning the Electronic Diversity Program. In the application process, I put "Master's degree" in the academic qualifications. Fortunately, I got selected among the winners for DV-2022. The problem now is that I am expected to graduate this year (after only few months) and obtain a Master's degree; hence, I'm confused about what to state in the highest educational level completed in the DS-260 form. Is it preferable to indicate that I have a Master's degree as I stated in the application process or select "some graduate courses"?

If submitting the DS260 form prior to your Master's program completion, indicate the highest educational level you have actually completed. You should not select Master's degree, if the program is still in progress as at the time of the DS260 submission. Alternatively, wait until you've completed the Master's program before submitting the DS260, if you wish to include that.

If I state that I'm taking graduate courses wouldn't that be seen as fraud since I stated in the application process that I have a Master's degree? Another question: if I waited till the end of September and filled out the DS 260 wouldn't it be too late, bearing in mind that my case number is 16k?
Thank you for your time and consideration.

No, it is not fraud. You educational level wasn't taken into consideration as part of the selection process, whatever you listed per your education back then is irrelevant.
Your CN as listed in your above post is useless without the region. Nevertheless, waiting until the end of Sept to submit the DS260 will not be too late. If that is an issue for you, then submit the DS260 now with your currently completed highest educational level as previously advised.

Thank you for the clarification, I'll do by your advice. By the way, my case number is AF16k.

AF16K isn't likely to become current until 2022, so waiting until Sept. to submit the DS260 (if including the Master's program is important to you) is not too late.

Thank you very much for your information, I really appreciate it. Including the Master's program is not a must to me. My only concern was that I undelibrately selected the MA degree option in the selection process and was afraid that this will affect my chances to obtain a visa. However, you have provided me with all the necessary information so as not to give it much thought. Thank you again.

You do realize the officer who interviews you will see the date you got your masters and will know when the closing date for entries was, right?
Anyway I agree what you listed on the entry form is not an important error.

Sorry I didn't get you. So it is better not to indicate that I have a Master's degree in the DS 260 but select "some graduate courses" instead.

Your first post indicated you’d try to “hide” the error in entry form by waiting till you had a masters to submit your ds260. I was pointing out you can’t hide it because the dates of entry form vs getting degree are obvious.
Yes, you should fill out the DS260 to be accurate as at the date you sign it.

Alright, thank you very much for your clarification.

I completed my high school in 2017.

I wrote on my DS260 Highest Qualification Achieved : High School Diploma.

Right now I’m currently second year student. At the time of filing my DS260 I was already in University but didn’t “finish”any courses yet.

Maybe I interpreted the question incorrectly?

If so, can I make changes at interview?

Are the DS260 options the same as the ones on the entry form? There is a difference between highest qualification achieved (what you say you answered) and highest level of education attained (which is the DV question).
anyway it’s not important. Yes you can correct at interview if necessary.

Can I add secondary (or above) educational institutions attended at interview?
I have been at two different universities but didn’t finish a single course in one of them.
it was just a transition between faculties to maintain visa status while waiting for other visa approval (South Africa) for the other university. It took a month.
Should I add that university in my DS260 even though I haven’t technically studied anything?
