Hello @ Sm1smom, I have a question.

We sent the AOS package to the Chicago lockbox on the 2nd of March and waiting for the receipt notice. However, we made a mistake by selecting the "YES" to the question "Are you applying for adjustment based on INA section 245(I)" in the I-485 form.
1. Will this lead to rejecting our package by Chicago lockbox?
2. Do you have any thoughts on how we can correct this mistake?

Don't create confusion for forum users by creating your own DV2021 AOS Only thread, when there's an existing thread for all DV 2021 AOSers.

By selecting Yes to that question, you're admitting you to having entered the US illegally, worked without authorization, or failed to continuously maintained a lawful status since your entry. There are additional forms required to be submitted by anyone answering Yes to that question, and there's also a fine.

The only recommendation I can provide is to withdraw that AOS application and re-send your package. If your payment has not yet gone through, you can simply contact your bank and cancel the payment, in which case the Lockbox will send back your package once the payment processing fails. If the payment has already gone through, then you will need to write to the Chicago Lockbox indicating you wish to withdraw the application and send in a new one in it's place.
