DV 2015 selectee ESTA ???

Hello everyone,

I need your help on a question that has been tormenting me for days.

Context:
My wife was selected for the 2015 Dv Program.
We had booked our flight for the US last January for our annual holidays (We've been traveling to Florida every summer and more for years).
I had already posted a thread on this forum (the old version) asking your advice on wether we should proceed on traveling or not, since we have submitted our DS-260 Form and every input was telling me it would be a go.

Do you guys confirm that ?

Now my question is this :
My wife's esta was expired, so we have applied for a new one, which was accepted ALMOST instantly (had the authorisation pending page, disconnected and re-connected right away to see it was accepted).
We answered NO to every question asked in the form, including the entry or visa denial.
I read somewhere that a visa is considered denied until approved.
Is that true ?
If so, are we lying on our esta application ?
Could we have difficulties at POE ?

FYI, we haven't heard back from KCC yet, and I don't know if we will before our departure on June 19th.

Thanks a million for your answers !

I am DV2014 winner and my number hopefully will be current in next two months. My docks have been with KCC from May 2013. Have sent updates. Called them a million times over last 12 months.

Got my ESTA approved last Friday. Answered NO to all the questions and for visa to be denied it has to be denied by an immigration officer so you are all good.

Currently I'm in the US and the border guy was a nice guy who asked few standard questions. If you have been to the US before and have reasonable ties to your country you should be fine.

I have visited the US for holidays 4 times since I was selected on Esta. So no problem.
