Dear DV 2012 Winners from Afghanistan:

I had emailed US Embassy in Kabul and asked about Police Records and Bank Statement. They in reply said that in Afghanistan, there is no need for police records and bank statement, but you have to convince the counselor officer that you will not be a public charge. So I think that no bank statement is needed, but you just have to have a degree, skill or some amount to live there for a couple of months without any amount needed. OR you may show your property documents showing that you have backup from family.

My wife is among 2013 DV Winner, and I have sent our forms to KCC on June, 2012. I sent confirmation inquiry to KCC but still they didn't confirm my forms arrival. Can you please share the email you sent to KCC for forms delivery confirmation. Can you please share your experience with me. Appreciate your help in advance.

KCC will not confirm any receipt if you send by DHL or any courier service they can confirm delivery. you may email asking about if after a month or so.
personally i did not check and got my interview without any follow up

Dear Brother,
Please send email to KCCDV@state.gov include your wife's case number, date of birth and last and first names in subject and then write email in the following format:

Case #: 2013AF*****
Name: Last name, first name
Date of Birth: mm-dd-yyyy

I have not selected either Islamabad or Kabul. I have just mentioned on the forms that I live in Peshawar. I am a regular student in Peshawar. I have left the decision to them which center they will direct me to.

I've been selelcted for 2013 and waiting for the confirmation for time and place of interviewe. I have required to be interviewed in Kabul US embassy. Would you plese indicate what is the medical examination procedure if interviewed in Kabul. Do I need to arrange for examination prior to interview (if yes how early) or it should be done at the time of interview. Do I need to arrange for the interview myself or how this works generally. Thanks for your response and may allah bless us with bringing peace to our beloved beutiful but wounded country.

Medical examincation cannot be done if the interview date is not confirmed. After you receive the 2nd Notification from KCC, you will have to take that letter to your medical examination. That letter is compulsoary for the mecial examincation Without that letter, you cannot have your medical examination. Wait till you get your 2nd NL.

No, your interview is really not in your control, you cannot do anything about it. It is arranged by KCC according to your case number. When your case number is current for a particular month, they will send you the 2nd NL 1-2 months before your interview datel. For instance, the cut-off number of Asia in October 2013 is 1900, so if your case number is less than 1900, you will get your 2nd NL which will inform you that your interview is in October 2013.
