DV 2011 Approved?

Hi all,

I had my DV 2011 interview today and both my wife and i were told we were approved?

The interview was a little rough, cause i had to update my DS230 with a new home address and job recently taken. They don't exactly let you take your time.

Anyway, both my wife and i realised we added our new address to the DS230 Part 1, but forgot to add it to Part 2?

Though given the initial approval by the CO, is it likely this oversight could result in a denial now?

Any informed info/thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Congrats AJK, I am more than sure, You will certainly have no difficulty on obtaining your Visa.
Can you describe in detail what are the question asked so to help us prepare for our interview and fellow member of this forum. Your input will be highly appreciated.

Once more thing would like to ask, Since my wife is the dv winner for 2011 . I am applying as dependent . Will they asked question to the principle applicaant only or to there spouse too.
As in my wife case , she has completed her study and haven't start her work yet. And I am working in IT sector.. Need some advice since you were there with your family.

I also appreciate if any of the forum member can highlight on this concern of mine.

The COs follow rules. Taking some time to update a ds 230 form has nothing to do with a visa denial. You and your wife have got the visa and you will receive it in a few days. Thank God for he has done it for you. Congratulations.

hi winners. I got my NL1 late September and sent it back mid -October. I applied as married but had not wedded then. Wedded on MAY DAY this year. I used the MAY DAY date on my form. But did not attached my marriage certificate. Should i have sent it along with my form? considering the fact that i indicated on my application form last year that i was married. Which i was; but mine was traditional marriage on the 29 may last yr. But i do not have any document for this. My wife is pregnant and the EDD is late October/early November. I need help on affidavit of support. My CN: 2011AF000118++. I should be till early December. for my 2nd letter.

congrat for your winning .. actully since you applied as married and you have to prove this marriage by providing marriage certificate from court. otherwise you will be disqualified to obtain GC.. you marriage certificate should be before playing online E-Dv2011 if you present marriage proof after the playing date you will be disqualified .. Counslar does not know about whethere your marriage is traditional or not.. they will care for Gunnine marriage.. for Kids no problem to submit thier info .. as per new coming baby you may update the new baby form during interview time ..

During interview you have to have all documents perfect otherwise you will face some problem which might result in rejection. So be aware of it.

Thanks kakoom. I would'nt deny the fact that i had my traditional marriage which is recognised under the laws and customs of the land. Nor the fact that i had my wedding not as a response to the dv lottry result. I was just doing my things based on pocket. B4 i entered for the lottry my wife was with me in the house. I did not register with the local authority bcos we had plans to wed in church. But the economic meltdown affected the plans. We could only pay for the T-Marriage. While the wedding went on hold till almost one year. Some of the delay was cause by the Catholic church where my wife worships then. What they call 'mixed marriage'. We attended 13 weeked marriage class after which we met the parish priest for him to approve a date or give us a date and then you go to the marriage registry to register. Your both passport photo is displayed at the registry for 21 working days. After which you go back to same registry for oat taking. Then the church handles the rest from there. Its a rigorious process.. Whats do you suggest i should do? Do i forget about the whole thing or what?

Since u have no strong marrige papers in your hand.. you have 2 choices :
first one : is to go to interview alone and secure a GC for yourself only.. then you have to wait a round 5 years for your wife to join and follow you in the states.
second : providing marrige certificate before your papers send to your interview destination, you will face serious interview regarding your marriage .. denial is proposed here ..
anyway i wish you all the luck my friend

if your story is genuine as you depict it , the best you can do is to carry any information which shows a relationship existed between the two of you before your dv and answer the co questions as honestly as possible. all they are interested in is whether what you are claiming is genuine not in which order you chose to live your life.about abandoning your dv, better pursue it to the bitter end and the co decides. cant pull out due to unfounded fears.

Hi Winner2011,

The CO directed questions to both my wife and myself. I was the principal applicant, so obviously i think it would be fair to say that the bulk of the attention was directed to myself and determining my elligibility.

Hi forumites,@ my2011. My marriage is geniune and so is every document. I had my wedding at a catholic church and if u know anyone who had their wedding at catholic church. Ask them their experience. Cos catholic wedding is not something that is done withing 1 or 2 month. It takes more time than that. And i had mine on the 1st of May. I had forgotten about the dv lottry, if not that i got the NL late september. I mistakely deleted my confirmation copy that i saved in my inbox. But fortunately for me i wrote the number and saved on my phone. So by the time the postman brought the letter to my place on a wkend. I did not went out that saturday. The postman was brought to my flat, he said he was loking for mr so so and so. I asked him if there was any problem,cos i never new he's a postman. I told him i am the one he demanded to see an identification, which i gave to him and he said congratulation that i've just won a visa lottry. He was expecting me to jump up and shout. But to his amazement i was calm. First i was not so sure cos i had forgotten that i entered for the lottry. So as we were talking my wife came out, so the guy told us that the letter has been with them for more than 3 months, and that he has been to my place several times without meeting anyone at home. Which might be true cos me and my wife both work. I leave home between 5 and 6 am. While my wife leave between 7 and 8 am. And we both return between 7 and 8:30pm. So when the guy left after i had appreciated him. Even though my wife protested why i had to give the guy anything at all.l was having fears that it might bea scam. When i open the letter i saw case number. I've never seen one before, so i brought out my con. Number and saw that they are not the same. So i had to wait until monday cos my internet was having some problem. So eventually i found it to true. I have never had any encounter with dv lottry winners till after i had recieved my NL. I later met a guy who won 2010. Before i got hooked to this forum... How long does the 2 letter take? Who needs an affidavit of support? When will i be current? I now has a baby girl who's just 9days old today. What do i do? How much is the visa fee? And do my wife and child need pay the same amount that i pay? Pls any other information that may help me pls kindly let me know... Thanks heavenborn...... 2011AF000118++ NL..RECIEVED SEPTEMBER, SENT FORMS BACK TO KCC.... 2NL.. Waiting
 
i need help concering dv 2011 case number

i just realized that i won dv lotterry 2011 on nov 3,2010 via their web site then i went to the post office to check my mail pox but unfortunetly they told me that they sent it back to kcc and then i had tried to contact kcc via email and they confirmed that i can send it to them with out my case number so i sent it on nov 11,2010 via DHL and DHL sent me an email of delivery confirmation on nov 16,2010.since then i heard nothing about my case from kcc so do u think that they have received my doc and if so why dont they let me know the delivery and sent me my case number,pls somebody tell me something.thank u
