hello my wife won th dv2010 lottery. we got married after applying as singles for the dv lottery.we went for interview this feb 2010 ,without our medical report because it wasnt ready. interview went on fine as we were both interviewed seperately by the c.o. after the interview we were given a 221g letter and in it we were told to get our medicals and courtship pictures.the co asked us which day is more convinient for both of us and we chose a week later because of my job. surprisingly on that day we were taking to a seperate unit upstairs one ofter the other and we were interviewed, interrogated and asked all sorts of questions by a team called F.P.U.
requirements we were asked to bring on that day was not even collected, uptill date still not.
after the interview we were just told the embassy will get back to us on phone that i should keep my phone on all the time.
till date no phone call.
i sent a mail to the us embassy, lagos and i was replied that our case is under administrative processing.
1. is this a routine way for everyone?
2. how long does it take for the ADMIN. PROCESSING?
3. Is there something hidden we were not told?
pls urgent help is needed as per what next to do
thankyou to every that can help as soon as possibleHOME
COUNTRY: Nigeria
CASE NUMBER:2010AF00013XXX
NL RECEIVED:3rd may 2009
CONFIRMATION VIA KCC:
SECOND LETTER SENT: 10th may 2009
SECOND LETTER RECEIVED: feb 8 2010
MEDICAL STARTED:feb 9 2010
MEDICAL COMPLETED: feb 11 2010
INTERVIEW FIRST: FEB 10, 2010
INTERVIEW F.P.U: FEB 18, 2010
INTERVIEW SUCCESSFUL: STILLWAITING, ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING
VISA COLLECTED : STILL WAITING.

1 its not routine for everyone.
2 its unclear how long admin.processing could take (and it depends on what they do which can be different for many cases)
3 I understand you asking this question as you'd want to know the answer, but how could anyone on the forum tell you the answer to this one. if you can call them and ask.

Also I do not understand the medical start and completed being 2 days apart. and what is F.P.U.?
You seem to be in a good state as otherwise you would already know that your case is unsuccessful... please be patient. If they need more information they will tell you!

Did you check and compare your wife's answers with yours? If you answered the same then that shouldn't be an issue. If not, that could be the issue and in that case you might have a serious issue.

Nobody can answer the questions except from you and your wife and the people conducting the interview.

Some people have stated on this forum that adm. processing can take a few weeks or even longer, but you still have plenty of time:)

Thanks for ur replyies guys.
FPU is fraud prevention unit. Well if u tell them at the clinic ur medicals is soonest they tend to give u more priority than others.

agba always be positive.GOD IS IN CONTROL.
ur qualification does not matter as u are not the primary winner.
as ur wife is the principal winner,HER HIGHEST DEGREE OF QUALIFICATION IS WHAT IS NEEDED.SHE MUST PASS WAEC ,GCE OR NECO IN 1 OR 2 SITTINGS AS ACCEPTED IN NIGERIA , THATS MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED TO APPEAR FOR THE INTERVIEW.
PLS , what did she fill in the online form when she played for the lottery in 2008? ITS EITHER SHE USED EDUCATION OR WORK EXPERIENCE,thats very important.
NOTE, FROM TRAVEL.STATE.GOV:
WHAT IS THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF EDUCATION YOU HAVE ACHIEVED, AS OF TODAY? You must indicate which one of the following represents your own highest level of educational achievement: (1) Primary school only, (2) High school, no degree, (3) High school degree, (4) Vocational school, (5) Some university courses, (6) University degree, (7) Some graduate level courses, (8) Master degree, (9) Some doctorate level courses, and (10) Doctorate degree

OR

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR EDUCATION OR WORK EXPERIENCE?
The law and regulations require that every entrant must have at least a high school education or its equivalent or have, within the past five years, two years of work experience in an occupation requiring at least two years’ training or experience. A ―high school education or equivalent‖ is defined as successful completion of a twelve-year course of elementary and secondary education in the United States or successful completion in another country of a formal course of elementary and secondary education comparable to a high school education in the United States. Only formal courses of study meet this requirement; correspondence programs or equivalency certificates (such as the G.E.D.) are not acceptable. Documentary proof of education or work experience must be presented to the consular officer at the time of the visa intervie

You guys are eligible to get the visa. You and your wife are qualified based on her education. All she needs to do is to have the GCE certificate or the computer print out/waec scratch card to verify the result is she will be going with the computer print out. When is your interview?Go to the 2010 Nigeria winners thread to get more info on the process and see people interview experiences both married and unmarried.Goodluck.
