I am in the process of doing a final check on the eligibility/documentation for my interview in the next two weeks. Appreciate if you could clarify my below queries:
a) My wife who is the DV2009 winner was born in Uganda but now is an Indian Citizen. As per the DV lottery eligibility, she can record UGANDA as the country of chargeability for the Visa since Indians born in India are not allowed under DV lottery. Please clarify if my understanding is correct.
b) My wife's birth was not registered until late Nov 2008. Her family had to flee the country and hence couldn't register her birth due to the Idi Amin crisis. The certificate is now issued as a true copy of the return/register of births for Birth registration and signed by the Registrar-General of Births and deaths. Is this certificate valid or is there anything else that needs to be completed.
c) My Birth Certificate was also obtained recently from India. It has been recorded in the native language and doesnt contain my name. My parents name is also recorded incorrectly. As far as i understand, a literal translation in English is required and 2 affidavits from my parents are required stating that i am their son etc. Please let me know if this is correct and appreciate some sample translation/affidavit formats.
Thanks for all your help.
