hey Guys,
I am an F1 student in US and I won the lottery for DV 2008. But number is very high aka EU00019*** when do you think I am going to have an interview (I am Turkish) if at all? Thanks for all your help
peace out

The same here. EU00019xxx, Turkish, F1 student.

Let me ask you a few questions while we are at it.

1) If not granted a GC for some reason, or 19xxx's never reached, does anything happen to my F1? Can I still use it?

2) Also, in that case, can I apply for any other type of non immigrant visa, for example can I renew the F1? Isn't it hard to be granted a non immigrant visa having applied for an immigrant visa in the past, with clear 'immigration intent'?

Thanks!

1) if you didn't apply for an immigrant visa, you continue being in F-1 status. You shouldn't (Not guaranteed) have any problems.
2) yes, once you apply for an immigrant visa, all non-immigrant visas become hard to get.

1) Well, as soon as I send my documents to KCC, I will have officially applied for an immigrant visa, even if I never get an interview, right?

Or, if I get an interview but I'm not granted a GC, in that case, would my current F1 be canceled?

The reason while I'm asking is my F1 is expiring December of 2008, and I won't be done with my degree by then. I can't apply for new F1 if I apply for the GC (and don't get it).

If I apply for GC and dont' get it, that's trouble!

Hocam Tebrikler!

Until WHEN do I have to wait the letter ?
I guess "later" means "lower probablity" ?

Good Luck Hemserim!

yes

if you are doing CP - yes. If you are doing AOS, and you have been maintaining your F-1 status all the time, you may theoretically fall back on F-1 status.

do you mean visa or status? if you mean status, you just get a new extended i-20.
