Hello everyone,
I gave my fingerprint on the 23rd of February and still did not get the interview letter :(( I went to my local office and they said probably they will send the interview letters between June and July. Thats what they did last year i hope they will do the same.
I am here as an F1 student and when i filed my I-485 in Novemer 2005 i was student and i did not need to send any affidavit of support this is what I was told. But right now I graduated and on my OPT and looking for job. Does anyone know if I will have to provide some financial paper on the interview day? I am suspecting maybe because of not sending any financial paper they will not call me for interview ?? :( Should I send in advance? We have familly business in Turkey and I dont have anybody in USA who can be sponsor to me.
Please any response will be so helpful.
Thank u inadvance and best wishes for who are still waiting for the little green card:)

Hi

I had the FP on April 4th and I did not get my interview notice . My number is EU4xxx and I thought that this name check is more simple. In what state are you?

I know that there is no problem if you did not sent the Affidavit BUT it would be great if you could prove or show that you have a job.

I hope we will get the interview notice as soon as possible.

hello afraid,
I am living in Hartford/Connecticut but my local office does not process any more AOS so I sent all my paper to Chicago. So i guess i will receive the interview letter from Chicago. What about u? where do u live and where did you start your AOS?
PS.I am looking for job but i guess i dont have much time to find one before the interview do you think i should show some financial papers about our family business in Turkey?
Afraid Dont be afraid:D I am praying everyday:)

You should have asked if your name check is clear, that is sometimes the hold up. As fos the Affidavid of Support, I'm on F1 still doing OPT right now, applied in Feb for AOS, not working but looking for a job since January, my point get an Affidavit if you don't have a job. You will need it. Not including it with the rest of the package when you applied for AOS should not make a difference.
Check on the USCIS web page you will see what dates are your local office processing right now, that can be another thing.
By the way did you send form DSP 122 to KCC before applying to AOS?

Hello Alincosma,
Thank you for replying. I asked them about name clear and interview but only thing they say wait which is so annoying:) I will wait until the end of JUne then I will go again. For your question yes I did complete the DSP 122 form and sent it out. I checked the processing dates for my local office and Chicago office since I sent mines to CHicago.Chicago office is processing December 01,2004 my local office is processing December 15 2005. I dont know which one I should consider. What about you alincosma what kind of financial paper will show to them in the interview since we have similar situation like being on OPT and we dont have a job.How about if I say like after i get the green card I will start my MBA. What if you do the same thing? We can just register for one class because while we are on OPT we can take one class like part-time and i have the notary stamped paper from my father which says he will pay for my all education expenses, and living expenses. It might work maybe ???

Isn't there anybody who's willing to sign an Affidavid of Support for you. Fortunatelly for me, I found somebody just in case. I don't know how it works if you prove that you have money across the sea, but you could transfer some in an account here in US and show them a bank statement.
As for the processing times I always check the local office. Chicago was just a receiver because in the end our papers ended up in Missouri, that's where I got the first 2 notifications, and then I got another one from local office for FP, which I didn't use it. Some people received the interview notice from local office others from Missouri Center. Only god knows, but I'm becoming impatient to.

which country are you from and which state do u live in? Because I am not sure but I guess for some country citizens they do more investigation like my country,Turkey. I think there was a list like including 19 countries. I hope also this thing and the recent immigration issues about the latin people will not cause delaying of your processes.
I am planning to register for another major as a full-time undergraduate student in my same university. I guess after being full-time student then I will not need any sponsor for the interview what do u think? Then If i want i can drop the classes and get the 100% refund.

I'm from Romania, living in Detroit MI. I don't know if my country is on that list or not.
I can not tell you if that is going to work or not, but it sounds like a good ideea. Like I said, maybe is for the best you just go and ansk them, USCIS, about it. They should be able to tell you if it is enough or you need something more.

I am trying to get infopass but it says for these days there is no available date. i guess they are too busy. I am trying to catch a day to go. Lets see what is gonna happen. By the way maybe one of my friend's parents will be sponsor to me hopefully. :D
Any news from you?

Since this year everybody has to send the papers to chicago for the AOS based on DV Lottery. So you did well. The FP will take place at the closest office where they do FP. This office could be an office where you could have the interview or maybe there is an office closer to your address.
If you go to INFOPASS and try to make an appointment give the area code and automaticly they will select the closest office to your place.
Not all offices do FP!
But as far as I know my interview will take place at an office different from the office where I had the fingerprints done.

I think that a JOB would be perfect, but if you can show them that you have money and you can support yourself untill you get a job that is god, too.
I believe that you still need to have the AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT .
To be sure you can ask an immigration officer. And if you have a job + affidavit+ money, that is more then enough.
Talk to an officer and make sure what is mandatory to have.

take care and good luck.
P.s. I am from South Carolina
