Hi everybody i was wondering if anybody could shed some light on my current situation. I petitioned my wife for a aos in november and we went for our interview on february 22. A little background before I go on
This is my second marriage and out of pure coincidence my second marriage that needs aos. I met my second wife while i was separted with my first and well we fell in love and got married about two weeks after my divorce became official.
Our interview was in mount laurel, the agent brought us in and immediately started asking questions about my first marriage (which i understand, they have a right to be suspicious) After I explained the reasons of my divorce to her she did not ask any more questions to us.
She simply said "I can not approve this case today because we have not received a file from the service center that I need to review....We are receiving interviews faster than they send us the file so we have no choice then to send out a letter with a decision. It is very rare that somebody will get denied because of this."
Now i am paraphrasing some of the above but that is what she said. Now according to my wife she said that nobody that had interviews that day was getting approved but I did not hear her say that.
So the question is, is this a valid reason? Is there really a missing file that the service center has not sent? and if so how long on average can we expect a letter?
Also we filed in november and have not received and EA card yet. The online system says it was approve but the card has not been ordered into production.
I really appreciate anybody shedding some light on this subject. Thanks so much for you responses.
