Duplicate I 797

Hi,
My H1B extension was approved in April 2008. But my employer never received it. They are going to apply for duplicate copy.

can any one let me know how long will it take to get the Duplicate I 797 and I 94?

But it has to go through the entire approval process. Do I need to wait for such long time for some one's mistake.

When i enquired my company, they told it will take 8 weeks to get approval from the date of re applying.

it will take a year or so if you look at the process time.
