DUI stuck in India for more than 2 months.

Dear Friends,

I am stuck here in India for 2 months.
I had a DUI more than a year ago in California.
I attended an interview for my h1b visa revalidation at Delhi on Oct 20th.
The officer had asked me to pay $85 and they took my fingerprints. They said they will contact me in 3 to 4 weeks.

Today it’s more than 9 weeks and still no call from them.

I have called them several times enquiring about the status and every time I get the same response .They say that it is under “admin processing”

If I as ask them when I can expect it they say it can come anytime and they will contactg me when it comes.

Because I called them so many times they have told me “Please don’t call us again, we will call you as soon the processing is over”

I am really frustrated about this. How long should I wait .Is there any way of resolving this? Please advice.

I consulted various discussion groups and most of the DUI candidates have got within 30 to 50 days. In my case it is more than 60 days.

I would really appreciate your help.

Note: My advice, NEVER EVER drink and drive In USA. I spent sever thousands of $$$ and lost a lot of peace of mind because of this.

Fingerprinting

Hi DUIProblem dude...

I am in touch with a guy who had a similar case....even his second interview took long time....more than 45 days....but he got his visa finally.....so dont lose hope....till this point, after reading so many forums, i am yet to see anyone whose H1 being rejected because of DUI...

did u have any other records?.... If necessary you can contact the FBI- RECORDS DIVISION phone number 304-625-2000.
Call them up and see if it is possible to know that they have processed ur case or not...I have never done it before....so have no idea...but thought it might help if u have some kind of tracking number.....

check ur private message and email me...

Fingerprint report delay....

I read in one of the discussion thread about the FBI number 304-625-2000.
It said that they will tell the fingerprint status. I called this number and they took my first name and last-name and told me that there was no fingerprint verification request for this name.

When I contact the Delhi consular office they say they have sent it for fingerprint verification.

What do I do???

40-45 business days

One of the other guys who is stuck in India also got exact same response from that number. How many days have passed since ur first interview? It normally takes 40-45 business days ( excluding saturdays and sundays ) to get the second call..( I have not done it yet, but thats what read or got the first hand info by talking to the people who have been through same experience.)
