Duartion to get the Receipt

I-797C came in mail today!

I still haven't got anything...and checking the receipt # on USCIS homepage still showed the same message as earlier...I'm seriously freaked out now because I need an extension for my green card as I'm applying for a job very soon...I talked to my lawyer and he said if nothing showed up until next week, I might have to schedule Infopass appointment....this delay and waiting just drives me crazy...

The notice of action came in mail today! I think you just need to be a little bit patient. :D

Is the receipt number you got from the mail the same as the one on the check? Did you check your status by entering that receipt # again on USCIS' homepage and see any changes from earlier error message?

Thanks,

Thanks,

The receipt number is actually the one (on the back of the cashed check) plus 2.

And online status says "Current Status: Case received and pending." ;)

Luckyyy,

Thanks for your info! But did the online status change the same date you received the mail? I assume that online status should be changed as soon as they started to send out the mail...and because of mail delivery time out of state, isn't it gonna be a couple of days at least you see the updated status before you actually receive the mail?

I'm just too anxious right now...today is exactly 2 weeks since they cashed my check...Based on my assumption, I'd better see the status changed by now! :(

I am not sure actually, because I didn't have the correct receipt number before I received the notice. Apparently, the one on the back of the cashed check is different than the one on the notice. Thus I don't think you should count on the number that you are using from the check.

Checks debited from bank

Just now checked my bank account and checks cashed out but don't have details of receipt numbers.
