Dual Citizenship

Now that India allows Dual Citizenship, has any one took US citizenship after the law was passed? Indian embassy web page says "rules and regulations have not been framed". Does this mean that we can hold on to Indian passport after getting US citizenship? If anyone has researched this issue, please share your knowledge.

Since the rules have not been framed yet, the current rule holds, i.e. you lose Indian citizenship and you need to surrender your passport to the nearest Indian consular office once you obtain another country's citizenship. When the riules are formulated into law you wil have to re-apply for Indian citizenship. The law that was passed in fact only allows for indian born foreign citizens to re-apply for their Indian citizenship and NOT automatically retain it when another citizenship is acquired.
My fear is that once the citizenship is reacquired as a result of this new law, the passports will be marked specially with something like "Overseas Citizen". This makes the whole thing nothing but a glorified PIO card with the added benefit that there is no need to register after 6 months stay and some more concessions in investment, property ownership and education.
