What a coincident - My I485 is approved on July 29 and I have received the approval letter on Aug 4 and got it stamped Aug 6.
That's funny. I guess that we both are oversmart

dasatish, how did you manage to do your passport stamping on a Friday in Newark ? I thought Newark only does passport stamping on Wednesdays.
I did my stamping in Norfolk, VA . It went very simple. They just took my I94, 2 photos, passport and approval letter and then stamped it. It just took 5 minutes, after
the one and half wait for my number to be called.

Great news! Enjoy the decompression..:0
Yes,the decompression has started. Too bad that it can't bring back my lost hair :( . I guess the decompression takes atleast 6 months.

Can you post the drafts of the letters and faxes sent to VSC that may have helped in your approval process.
I haven't sent any formal letters to them. I (actually my wife) talked over phone with the congressional assistants and they have
initiated enquiries for my case. But i think that my approval is triggered by my FP2 rather than congressional intervention.
A lot of October'02 people got approved in the last 2 weeks and i am just one of them. I think that i forgot to mention in my
posting that my wife is also approved. It's mistake i hope i don't have to regret  . She has been of tremendous support to me
i salute her for that.

How come did you manage to get stamped so soon, just 2 days after approval? So, in addition to all other merits you also smart and because of this you'll have a great luck in your years ahead.
Once you get approval notice, you just need 1 hr time to get ready for stamping. All you need is 2 photos, passport with I94,
and approval letter. So why should any one delay ? More over, the approval letter said that i can go on any day for stamping.
so i didn't waste any time. Thanks for your wishes.

Hi

I got approved from the NSC area. Currently I am in the NJ. Can I go for stamping in this area or do I have to go back to where the letter tells me to ?

I did not give them any ac21 letter but am approved now.

Thanks

Hey dsatish,
First of all Congratulations!!! I have a friend with exactly the same name as yours. May be he is related to you. After seeing your signature(with your name), I first thought it was my friend(any way you are my unknown friend) but after talking to him I realized that it was not him. You are a lucky man. I got an RFE today. Don't know the RFE details. He is eager to talk to you if you don't mind.

Thanks.

Good Luck in job change now
Man, that seems as tough as getting a GC. Donna how long it's going to take to get a full time job (and how long that lasts  )

I am still around to CONGRATULATE you
Thanks Tufan. Your patience and positive attitude should be an inspiration to others. Though you are given the worst
possible punishment by INS (by transferring your case to Atlanta center), you have shown great positive attitude and concentrated
on other things in life. I really appreciate that. I wish you good luck in all your endeavors.

Are you planning to jump ship immediately now or wait for a few months after GC approval?
I am planning to JUMP ship by the end of this month. I believe that we have every right to take up a job of our choice
as soon as you get the GC. After the GC approval, working for 1 month for the sponsoring company is more than enough.

Ab paise to nai maangega na!
nahi . With the way VSC is clearing the backlogs, there is no immediate need for money. What ever was collected so far, will be
spent for long term objectives of immigrationportal.org.

I have sent you a PM with my phone number. You can pass it on to your friend. Don't worry about RFE. Just send a reply and you might get approved within a month.

Many people got their stamping done at another location . So there may not be any problem. So try to go this wednesday to Newark for stamping. If they ask you wh yyou have come here, tell them that you have just moved here and about to file AR11.

Such good news! :) It couldn't have come to a more deserving person. You have worked selflessly for everyone's benefit, truly being selfless in this fight for GC approval. So it feels real good to see your perseverence being rewarded. I am also very glad that now you have the licence to be free of the clutches of your employer and can go out and make what you are truly worth. I agree that being safe hasn't paid off big dividends other than a hopefully smooth GC path. You can now experiment to your hearts content. I only hope the GC gives you the happiness you have been searching for. Here is wishing you all the best for the future.

Good luck and take care!

Congrats Satish,

Can you please PM me the email address you used to contact USCIS? I am a dec 2001 applicant from CSC waiting for 2nd FP or RFE or Approval.

Thanks

Congratulations

Congrats Dsatish:

This is a very good news and wanted to wish you heartiest congratulations. Over the period of time, I've read your articles and gained strength from your point of view.

I wish you all the very best for the life coming ahead and hoping that you continue this warrior attitude in other parts of life aswell.

Cheers!
Currys

By seeing work of Satish, I am learning some good things about helping others. I am not sure how do you get time to give good suggestions on continous basis. I appreciate your good work

Thanks for the wishes, my friend. I would like to meet you (and kashmir, rk4gc etc) when (if) i come to California. Actually i have not done any selfless act here. I fought for our a cause which benefits me also  . As for giving suggestions to people, the credit should go to this forum where every one shares his experiences with others.
It was nice to work with people like you, kashmir, rk4gc,edison etc. Hopefully, together we can fight more battles in future. Good luck for your GC.

I have earlier told that i will write something about immigrationportal.org . Here are some key internal facts about that organization :
1) It is a volunteer organization and we usually have bi-weekly teleconferences to chalk out a course of action. Ofcourse we have an yahoogroups Email through which we communicate daily. The main active members these days are myself, kashmir, rajum, rk4gc and edison. Other core team members also attend these meetings, but not regularly.
Sometimes Rajiv attends these meetings if he is not busy with the current court case.
2) I do not have any direct access to the money(fund collected). I do not even know the bank account number. I am just a volunteer who has campaigned for fund collection. The bank account is maintained by the accountant and we have put proper checks and controls around that. So far none of the amount collected (more than 23K) is utilised.
3) In the past 2 months, we haven't achieved much. This is due to the difficulty in deciding what to do with the money collected. Also we have wasted time in unnecessary research.
4) Though we have finally decided to put some one on a part time basis to work for ip.org, there was some delay in the start date of such person. This is beyond my control at this stage, but i hope we will have some one working for ip.org by the end of this month. Once we have a person, any one with any immigration related problems can approach this person for help and he will help them on behalf of ip.org. So the money collected is definitely going to be put to good use, albeit somewhat slowly.
5) Occasioanlly we will keep sending some letters to congress men and US CIS.
That's all i have right now to share with all of you.

Please RSVP to my inbox.

bhankas,
Thanks for the wishes. I hope that my true american dream begins at least now. I am not a noble soul, just a guy next door. Hopefully we all can help one another. We will try to meet.

india 1975,
Thanks for the wishes. As the pressure goes off, the mind cools down. We (GC approved people) are in decompression zone now :p

Congratulations! :)

I had to be away for a few days and couldn't visit the forum while I was gone. Got back yesterday and started reading messages that were posted while I was gone and then gave up after deciding it was too much catching up to do to read all the posts while I was gone.

Earlier today I was thinking, "it seems I haven't seen any posts from dsatish in the last few days" and wondered if you were approved. Funny, a short while later this thread bubbled up in today's posts after your last post here. (May I should have wondered if I have been approved :D)

I am very happy for you and wish you all the best. You contributed a lot to this community. Congratulations once again and good luck.

Time to repeat my old (and by now worn out)joke: perhaps I'll see you here in the naturaliztion back log reduction forums in about 5 years. :D
