DS230 Question

Hi,

Hope someone can clarify my doubt on this question. How important is the question "In what occupation do you intend to work in US" for the spouse. My wife has to specify her work experience as she had gotten H1B approved before, but did not use it. Can she say none for it or is it better to specify "Software professional" as is in her case.

Another question she is attending the interview two months after my GC got approved. I am assuming that she still has to state her case as employement based. Thanks in advance.

It does not matter. She can state 'None' in this column and it does not take
away her qualification to get employed later.

If this is the consular interview you are referring to, then they would know
that this is employment based.

If this is a job interview that she would be attending, then no one would
ask her how she got her GC.

Thanks

Hi Raju,

Thanks for your reply. She is attending her consular interview. I included her name 15 days prior to my interview as i got married only then. So consulte gave her a interview date two months later. Since she is attending on my case, i am assuming her case is also employement based.
