Hello folks,

I have a few questions on DS-230 form hope you senior guys can help answer:

1) Item # 25: How accuarate should the dates be for all our previous visits to the US. I don't remember the exact dates and I just mentioned the month, the year and approximate duration of stay, will this do ??
2) My Item # 25 entries overflows into an additional page do we have to sign them also....logically we should but my attorney says its OK. In fact my employment record, item #22 also overflows into an additional page and my attorney did not ask me to sign them either.

Otherwise the form looks straight forward to me and I wonder why NVC takes several weeks to do this simple review ?!

Thanks,

RK

ds230 i

For 25, fillin the month/year ..
thats sufficient.

If it flows to the next page,
say " see Attached Addendum to Item 23" in the Ds230 form

and attach a sheet with Case#, Name of the appplicant, Item # and Fillin as much as you want.

I attached around 4 addedums for various items.

Also,

search this forum.most of your questions were answered previously.

search for Raju595 or Rajeev_kumar to see their replies to those questions.

{If you are in pocession of your passport(s), even the old ones
you should find the entry and exit stamps in them. It is true
that in US they do not stamp when you go out. But other
countries normally record both entry and exit with their stamps.
India does.

If you don't have all the passports, then you have to just put
the months as you posted }

{You do not have to sign the addendum sheets. There is no
harm if you sign them either.}

Do wee need POE/EXIT INFO While on H1 and continously residing in US

Raju, Rajeev Kumar, helloGC:

I am on an H-1B and, have lived in 4 different addresses.

My employer was chicago based, and my first POE CHICAGO .
about 1 year in chicago, I lived in OH, for 2 months. and NE for 2 months.

My first Port of Exit in 2000 at Chicago and after a month and second Port of Entry in Chicago in 2000 .

and lived in Chicago for 2 months.

Changed employer and ever since living in AL

New H1B

My Second Port of Exit JFK to INDIA, NY and after 1 month my Port of Entry NY JFK.

Still living in AL.

Then I made a 4 day trip to CANADA via ATL, return via ATL, however POE at INS @ TORONTO airport.
No passport stamping done over there. the INS inspector just returned my passprt with the old JFK,NY stamp and old I94.
Still living in AL.

I am doubtful as, if I have to include all these entries (including my Port of ENTRY/EXIT and ENTRY/EXIT dates ) under section 25, or that I only have to include my stays in CHICAGO, OH, NE, and AL.

I would like to get a reply from all three of you.

Thank you.

imihelp,

If I were you, since all the information is available, I would enter
all the details. Obviously it is going to overflow into an addendum
sheet.

In these days it is better to be cautious even if it means some
additional work.

That is my opinion.

Raju

Thanks Raju, Others Please!

Thank you Raju .

Rajeev Kumar , HelloGC what do you guys think ?.

i listed only my residence changes and visa status changes (f1 to h1) in the section#25. There was no problem with NVC on these. I dont know if they look into these when it goes to the consulate, as i am expecting sep interview.
