Hi All,

In DS-156 there is a question.
Are Any of The Following Persons in The U.S., or Do They Have U.S. Legal Permanent Residence or U.S. Citizenship?
Mark YES or NO and indicate that person's status in the U.S. (i.e., U.S. legal permanent resident, U.S. citizen, visiting, studying, working, etc.).

What should i answer for this question.
My brother is in the US.

The reason for my question is that i have seen people rejected when the visa guys know that our immeidate relatives are there in the US.

Please advice.
Any ppl with similar experiences.

Regards,

If he is your immediate brother, then you will have to answer yes. You should not lie on these applications, as it will come to bite you on a later date. I assume you are on H1, if so, you dont have to worry as fraud is the only major reason for H1 visa denial.
