Drug Screening Must Be Done In USA ONLY?!?!

Hi everyone,

I recently received a job offer from a company however it is contingent on me passing a drug test.
The issue is I am working remotely in Canada and the drug test is a 10-panel test which they insist must be done at one of the Labcorp medical centers in the US Only.

I am unable to take the drug test from Canada, which means I cannot start working immediately.
I am debating if I should take a risk at the land border to see if they let me through since I would literally cross into Buffalo, take the test, and head back to Canada.
The other option is I can wait 2-3 weeks and let the lawyers prepare TN paperwork prior to me entering the United States and take the drug test after entry.

The only issue with that option is I am not sure if the company will give me a letter of employment since it is contingent upon passing the drug screening.
Any advice in this situation?

I suppose I could always fly into the US worst-case scenario right?

From what you say, they probably will not give you a TN letter at this point. However, if you have a letter from them requiring that you have this test performed, and you have a appointment at a testing facility, the CBP should let you in for this purpose. It is like having to go for an interview. which has always been permissible.

You were 100% correct. The officers simply asked what my purpose was and when I mentioned a drug screening, they understood and let me through, no questions asked. It helps to bring proof of the drug screening appointment, but they did not even ask for it.

Thank you for your insight.
