driving to Canada

I am planning on driving to Canada with my car. It is financed but my finance company does not have a problem with me driving across the border, some paperwork such as insurance and address in Canada is required, but nothing major.

My question is that what do I need to take with me? what shall I be prepared for? is there a website I can check for requirements? any information will be appreciated.

Thanks :)

If you are a landed immigrant, and if you had declared this vehicle in the goods to follow list, you will be asked pay the A/C fee on the vehicle, and will be given the necessary papers to get your car registered in Canada. You will have to take you car to Canadien Tire to get the appropriate modifications done. Keep in mind that you need to be in possession of the TITLE of your vehicle clear of any leins. I don't think the finance company will give you the title till you pay your loan off.

You will not be allowed to drive a US plated rental car.

Texas,

Are you going to Canada for a short trip or you are just going to stay there?

I drove my own car (financed as well) to Canada for a 2 day trip and at the border, they just let me in.

I came back to the US without any problem too.

Thanks for your replies guys. But I am going to fly. Going there to land. I live in TX, pretty long drive to Toronto.. :)

But thanks for the replies.
