Drivers license renewal while AOS pending ... possible?

Hi again everyone,

Here's my question for the day. My CA drivers license expires on 8/31/06. (This is also when my F1 status expires, and that's why the drivers license also expires on that day.) I will have applied to adjust status (based on marriage to a USC) around mid-August. Does anyone know if I'm allowed to renew my CA drivers license on the basis of a pending AOS? If so, what documents would I need to take to the DMV? Anyone else run into a similar problem?

I forgot to mention that I've had a social security number and card for a long time. Not sure if that's relevant here.
 
Cali actually enforces that?

I just renewed my NV licence with an expiration date of 2010, couldn't have cared less about any visa expiration dates.

This is the reason I think mine was renewed here in Florida. You know you don't have to wait for the expiration date to renew right? Why not go try to do it before?
