drivers' license for h4 visa in illinois

I am on H4 visa & want to take road test (i already got the learners' permit ) But my Visa expires this month & waiting for the extension letter..

Am i able to take the road test, though my visa expires..Do I need have the stamped visa in passport?

Visa has no effect on DL application

Visa is immaterial, they will look for valid I-94.
