Driver License denied

I have an AOS application pending at Vermont and I recently moved to New Jersey from another state. THe DMV denied my app. because they were not sure of my immigration status and would not accept SS card and EAD (as stated in their manual it is an acceptable combination of ID).

What can I do? Please help!

Even i had a tough time with DMV,do not visit many DMV office around your county,if possible visit Eatontown ,here most of the officers are
aware of new rules(post september). I had same situation as your but was lucky enough to talk to a patient,understanding officer.If you can post ur details(e-mail id),then hopefully i can give more details.
U got to act deftly at DMV,as in Nj after sept things have changed a lot @DMV.

What are ur AOS details.

My wife had an I-94 (H4) valid for less than a year (we applied for AOS in July, 2001), so we had to go to the DMV in wayne to give a written test. The driving test can be in any of the test centers after getting an appointment.

I know New Hampshire has worsened it\'s policies for aliens resident and non resident both I guess

like going to head qtrs in Concord from issuing the license limited to H1/H4 duration only!

No Luck!!

Went again with all the paperwork and explained that I-485 applicants have an indefinite stay. DMV person said NO and kicked me out of the office (Deptford, NJ).

Anybody got ideas?

Hi

I am facing the same kind of situation. Please post if you have some info about it. We have moved from VA to Philadelphia PA. We went to the Driver Licence Center to change the license to PA state. They were asking for the same kinda information.. like INS stamped i94..etc. VA is cancelling my license by this month end. They have given me 1 month time to change to PA. But PA Driver Licence Center is not giving me the license. I am working on EAD. I don't have h1 anymore. They don't accept EAD as a status document. They are asking for i94 or GC approved stamping on the passport. Don't know what to do.. Please post a message if you have any idea about how to handle this situation..

what kind of documents do I need to get a NJ license?
Did they understand what I-485 meant?
