dos processing of J1 waiver

My application was sent to DOS on Feb 08 and got recommendation on March 24.. hope it helps
here is my timetable of J1 waiver process 2005
1) Dec 23 got approval from IGA South carolina and case transferred to DOS where it was applied on dec16th 2004. As far as i know it got approved in 2 weeks as it was a pre approved case when I signed the contract.
2) Feb 18rd case approved by DOS transferred to USCIS
3) March 18th case approved by USCIS
4) March 10 th my lawyer send the application for H1b
5) March 20 th I get a letter from USCIS for the proof of license to work in SC and now I am working on getting some letter from SC medical board as RFE.

The VA central office said they sent their rec to the DOS on the 8th of April but the DOS website does not show they have received the IGA letter or DS2019.Does this only update when the status changes from pending to approved?.Please can some one help,I am getting anxious and wonder if I should call the DOS to see if they did received the IGA letter.

--> No, DOS update the site with the documents received and the status remains "Pending". What I heard is that DOS normally updates the site within a week after recieving the documents. In my case DOS updated after a week with a week earlier date when they recieved it.
If I were you, I would call VA and find out how they sent it. Hopefully they sent it via some trackable means, like Fedex. Get the tracking number and check that out first.
Good luck... and post your update here how long DOS is taking these days.

Took me 4 days to get "received" status in the DOS website
in my case, i heard from the WV state that they sent it to DOS on April 15th. and found the change in the DOS website on April 22nd. but it says it was received on April 19th probably because of delayed update. thank you.

I checked the DOS web site yesterday(4/26) and it still said DS019 and IGA letter requested.
This morning it changed to favourable recommendation
,with date documents received 4/22 and approval sent 4/27.The VA said they had sent the docs on 4/8 but the website never updated till the final approval.
I hope this will make other poor saps like me who are in the situation I was in less anxious.
I guess I will now start the H1 B application.Can I also start the NIW process or do I have to wait for final INS approval first?
