Is seems sooooo unfair that some people have to wait for years to get a GC and some brag about getting it in 87 days. It sucks!

I dont know what DORA is but it's unfair, I know that!

Dallas Office Rapid Adjustment.
It's a pilot program. And yes, it does seem unfair, but maybe they will start implementing it all over the country if it's success continues.
And I wouldn't exactly call it bragging - they're just excited. As you would be when you first hear you application has been approved. :)

Actually not all processes at DORA are receiving the GC in the 90 days window. They implemented the program to see if they really can accomplished the majority of the cases in that 90 day and then try to implemented in others parts. So far they haven't make any assestment if the program is really efficent. I think that many things should be check like size of the district office and immigration population in the area who will apply for benefits.

You will like to see that there was a pilot program in NY but it was ended at the beginning of this year.

I am agree that seems unfair and I understand your frustration, I keep saying my husband that people who live in California and applied even AFTER me for several months will get their green card this year and I will be still waiting next year, oufff totally frustration.
Good luck,

Hello,

Couple questions,

what happens when you inquire about the missing I485 Notice??? Why you have the same date about the infopass and the FP?
They allow you to take the FP the same day??
Did you receive the FP Notice??

I wonder because its been 16 days since my Interview, and I haven't receive any NOA yet, I dont want to spend 1 or 2 months to go to the next step asking about those notices by infopass...

Hi:

See my post in the other thread ---- it is too early to get concerned over the notices after 16 days. And way too early to expect the FP letter yet. Try to relax. Best wishes.

Good luck,

The pilot program generally works very well and most people do get approval in 90 days. However, note the following:

1. DORA applicants are subject to the same security checks as everyone else.
Therefore, if e.g. the name check doesn't clear, DORA will not help the
applicant.
2. DORA allows for instant rejections of fraudulent or unsupported applications
since the interview is upfront.

It is a very good program overall and should be implemented more widely.

My whole process took 120 days and that was with an RFE. I wouldn't get too worked up over it, most people are getting green cards in 4, 5, 6 months so DORA isn't really saving that much time in the grand scheme of things.

I would like to give USCIS an applause for a job well done!

Contrary to many stories that its a long, long wait for one to get a greencard,, the USCIS is giving their best shots on their desire to approve cases. This means they are looking for ways and means to foster a speedy processing for each and everyone of us applying for it! It is not frustrating for me,, it is indeed, a ray of hope to all of us!

Congratulations to all who got their greencards earlier than what you expect, please offer prayers for all who are still waiting for theirs! This is what this forum is all about,, helping and supporting one another in our own little way.. giving encouragement and support when badly needed and giving some sound advices for some concern during the process..

God bless us all!

DORA does save time when compared to some district offices. But you are quite correct that there are some district offices that process I485 almost just as fast as DORA.

However, the efficiency of DORA is that the interview is upfront. Any admin. problems, incorrect forms, fees and any fraudulent/insufficient cases are weeded out upfront. Also, people do not receive EAD or AP before an interview. In general, this is also good for security.
