Hi everyone,

I'm very excited to say that we have our appointment with DORA on September 19th!! Many thanks for everyone's advice.

I have a couple of questions. I currently live in Dallas, but I am moving from Dallas to another state before my appointment. My plan is to keep our apartment in Dallas until the appointment.

My questions are:
1. Do we need to keep our Dallas address until we receive the GC?
2. In the affidavits of support, my fiance needs to show a letter of employment. At the time of our appointment, he will have a job in another state. Right now his job letter is from his current job here in Dallas, but his job in Dallas ends on August 31st. Can he use his Dallas job letter at the appointment instead of the job letter from his future job in another state?

Thanks very much for your help.

Hi,

Be aware of the form I-864 it says current employment. Not previous ones. It also says if you change address notify them or there are penalties for that. They have form to notify change of address which you can do after the appointment, see this link:

All the best,

Use your best judgement!

Be in love and keep smiling!

But if I change my address after the appointment (not in Dallas, out of state), doesn't that disqualify me for DORA??

Hi SolBenitez,

I don't think so, but you can call the 1-800 number and find our more ...

SolBenitez,

Technically, you should be fine. You have 30 days to file for the new residency. Now if you are only 19 days away, I think you can use the loop hole :)
