Dont mess with Texas (as they wont be aware of it)

Does anyone actually know how to get through to a real person at the Texas Service Center.

Briefly, they never sent my approved I-130 petition to the National Visa Center - now that my priority date is current I cant apply for my green card (after a 4+ year waiting period) becuase the NVC have no record of it.

I have faxed them, filed an I-824 and called BCIS's 1-800 number (where they told me to send a fax).

I feel like I am shouting into the wind for all the progress I am making - I have no problem at all with waiting IF I knew that they were working towards correcting the error.

My petitioner has contacted his congresswoman but there is no answer from their office on the subject either.

It is frustrating to know I am now eligable for my green card and yet unable to begin the process due to an administrative error.

Does anyone have any ideas/experiences to share?

For anyone that is in a similar situatution where you need to get BCIS to correct an admin error on their part, lost file etc I urge you to do the following.

Go to www.senate.gov and find out who the senator is for your area/ your petitoners area.

Then call/write/fax/email (politely but repeatedly) until you get through to the staffer that handles interactions with the BCIS.

The lady helping me currently is being incredibly helpful, insightful and polite. She is even making a physical trip to the TSC on behalf of a group of individuals like myself from her senators area that have BCIS issues that we are unable to resolve on our own.

It took about a month and four attempts to get through to her office and get the ball rolling but now I actually think my issue will be resolved and I can actually file my green card application.

I know how frustrating it is when you cant get them to listen, this is one way of doing that.
