Sharabi - I am sorry you had to return to Bombay but once the economy picks up you can be back again. Not only that, you will be eligible for Eb1 this time. So good luck.

The issue is not whether I get the GC soon, but it is whether legal immigrants are going to be treated like dogs by shortsighted political agendas. The long term real solution is to influence law-makers to change policies. We will all eventually end up with GCs but still can be dragged off airplanes and held indefinitely without legal counsel. I support law-suits (this society doesn't seem to understand any other language) but the real problem is (particularly this) administrations inability to separate legal and illegal immigrants. Legals are treated like illegals and vice-versa.

So - bottomline, I think the lobbying activities achive very little bang for a lot of buck (I am sure it will have some impact). My agenda is long term, trust me this isn't over by a long shot, this is just breathing room. We will all have to go thru the same crap all over again during citizenship phase. I have told y'all before, the employment-based immigrant community is the richest and most educated community in this country, we can and should have a lot more influence in the congress and make fundamental policy changes.

Congrats waytoolong. Your approval and mine will give boost and hopes to those folks who changed jobs using AC21 with a drastic salary rise while having same or similar job description and same or similar job title. Let me update the other thread too.

I was cordially :D escorted out of the building 2 days after cordially :D asking my boss to kiss my a$$ and go to hell (note to self on a hindsight: bad idea without a GC)
AC21 does not care about the nature of job loss and also does not care how many days it took to find a new one (I took an offer and then went on a vacation before joining) I think I had about 60 days gap. INS does not care about that. They care whether the new job is
1. same/similar
2. permanent or not - will there be continued employment?
3. risk of public charge or fraud?
4. whether your I-140 is unrevoked for at least 180 days of I-1485 RD

1&2 are immaterial if you can show future job offer and are currently not working or on vacation or whatever
