Don't be surprised to see tons in a day

I heard that adjudication is going on at a good pace, but approvals are not published till they all go through the final bit of security check (new software install).

So there will be tons of approvals in one day. Hang in there guys! Our turn is coming.

I wish your theory was true. You might be right. Considering the fact that 485 applicants are getting RFE's does indicate that
they are reviewing cases but not publishing the final result

please don't tell me..

that you have a friend or girl friend's cousin/mother/father/uncle or some one else working with INS like Mahesh KK (He had told us about a couple of months ago about speedy approvals as parallel processing will start in sep 02).

How do you know that it is happening? I did hear from my lawyer that FBI is screening cases. I don't know how true that is???

My prediction:

Sep 01 (rem): approvals by Feb 03
Oct 01: Approvals by Mar 03
Nov 01: Approvals by May 03

I have not considered Rfes.

Reality, not day dreaming..Hope, I am wrong. But, So far, I am right. I know how does Super power Govt works.

contrary to what we all may choose to believe, my lawyer says, that, this security check thing is a very fast process and computerized and is definitely not a cause for delay. There is soemthing else to it than just that.

could be true. last week very few approvals, but bunch of RFE and transferrs. So could be approvals will come in batch

I am not making it up

Please follow this link:
http://www.immigration-information.com/showthread.php?threadid=1307

Then read the text below:

A memorandum to the field, described on InfoNet at Document No. 02112170 (click on Related Links), has instituted additional security check procedures. These include a requirement that, when an FBI name check results in an indication that a record may exist, INS must receive a definitive response from the FBI before it can approve an adjustment of status or naturalization application. To facilitate this process, some computer system enhancements are being installed. During the installation process, adjudications will continue but final determinations will not be issued until the upgrade is completed. This is expected to take 1-2 weeks.

I have a question, guys, remember the online system once said "not indentified by FBI" after your case number? Does that mean you're fine? Or now INS is going through FBI database again for your record.....

What about name conflictions. Do they use social security number as well?

Ok. when INS receives your application, they do an IBIS check, which is only valid for 35 days.

when they are going to approve your case, they will do another IBIS check, if you have a name hit in the database, then you're screwed.

I hope they will do a name + bday check instead of name check. Since lots of ppl have common names.

In early Dec, they will install a system to facilitate name check, and many cases are waiting for that check. So possibly we'll see bunch of approves on same day after that. Let's say Dec 9?

I think it will be

earlier than Dec 9th.

Somewhere I read that an official from Nebraska Service Center said that they will be done with the upgrades early this week.

However, we all know that how these upgrades work. There will always be a Windows patch or service pack or something else missing. I am hopeful that eventually our miseries will be over soon.

Hey, guys, read this artile.
http://www.hervisa.com/news.html

It seems the new software intalled is a good thing for us. It will solve the name conflict problem and so the processing will go faster. It actually is a good news. Even though they slow down recently, that's only for faster in the future. So ppl with common names won't be identified and put on shelf.

Hope after turkey day, INS officier will feel better since christmas is coming and approve more cases.

:)

I agree with you. I feel that since US is thriving on immigration policies, the last thing that they want to do is to have legal aliens like us suffer.

They will improve their system so that illegals can be filtered out more easily and legal aliens get to see a faster processing. Besides terrorism, the next big thing for USA is to revive the economy. It can't be done without talented people like us being given free hand in contributing to the economy.

Let's hope for a speedy approval after (or before??) thanksgiving.

talented people like us ... ????

talented....??? If so why India is like this ? and why you left the origin of talent ? You are thinking as if you have taken the responsibility of bringing up th economy of US back ?? BIG JOKE.
We have come to eat the fruits of trees planted by others. Be happy as they are allowing us to pick the left over fruits...

Do not think US is short of avarage people like us. Many inventions, policies and systems are invented by them. India followed many. And many Indians "Aping" them.

GC_Ka_Jhanjhat,

When ur ideas r so crystal clear (not to say that they are correct) unidirectionly , why r u then still stuck up in this daily GC Ka Jhanjhat? Why do you accompany the grindmill of these average, fruit-eating (leftover) "ppl" (which u "mis"-interpreted as from India by "default")?

There r many folks on this forum who interpret everything and anything looking abysmal and hopeless as belonging to India. They seem to be perenially sick of selective xenophobia.

I agree that I am average ( or may be below average ) but like to live in this 'better' place as opportunity comes. Is li ye ye jhan jhat. Only thing I want was let us be grateful to this country, besides loving India.

But I am writing against people who boast them selves and feel like carrying US on their shoulders. My answer was against those people.
many people here are against the natives
saying they are wasting time in thanks giving days
IIO sucks, INS is lazy , late, I cannot wait this delay etc ...

Be thankful to what they are offering..... It is not our right to get GC. Native People are being denied an opportunity. I say they are magnanimous. Ackoledge that. Learn from them many things like : having patience, respect and recognise others ideas, give due credit to other, maintain time, etc...

Beggers are not choosers.

GC_KA..........

I beg to differ.

It is pure economics or say demand-supply chain.

Those who are immigrants now a days shouldn't be called beggars just as those who came a few centuries ago don't want themselves to be called pirates/attackers.

No body lives on the mercy/sympathy of others. If need were not there, these latest immigrants won't have come (who doesn't want to avail of good opportunity just ike u, me or those who came in 1500-1600AD here).

Just because, times are adverse and laws are not best attuned to protect these new immigrants in such times, they shouldn't be treated as 2nd/3rd/nth class residents due to lack or excessive competition in jobs/opportunities. Let Darwin's theory prevail despite both sides of Weighing pan (in terms of law) not being equal for citizen versus immigrants (non-citizens or say browns/yellows etc.).

Average or superior, survival of fittest is the keyword and u know just as everybody else that immigrants to this land have always been great adventures/fighters.

Let'em fight rather than trying to kick them out at the pretext of being able to use law-stick.

At least, u as an immigrant ought to show survival spirit. I hate when I am being made to think that we are beggars.

Why, why, why.....................................why?

You may be average and you may think of yourself as beggar.

Well, I don't. I am doing good at my work. I am making good money and I have miles to go. I was one of the best in the India and I am doing equally well here. I have never seen any American showing any hatred towards me or any other immigrants. Most of the people at my work place understand that America is strong because of it's friendly Immigration policy.

Not sure what's the problem with you. You are a looser. US is not for loosers. If you think you are a beggar, people will treat you like one. No matter where you are - in India or in the USA.

If GC is denied.. Not much you can do...We applied and waiting 'helplessly' for approval. So a kind of begging - whether you agree or not.PERIOD.

You are agreeing that it is having friendly Immigartion policy. Thats want I wanted in first place. Acknowledge the policy.

Probably you are NOT unfortunate to loose some thing here. I do not wish for any body to be unfortunate. But do not think in US, all are winners. There are many sufferers. If suffering comes - us is worse than India.
