Thank you everyone for your kind wishes. Although I have never met any of you, I feel that we are close friends. Trying circumstances bring people together I guess.

Question about the derivative application

Is it possible that the primary and the derivative get approved at
different times ?
When did you apply for your wife ? After your i-485 or aling with your's ?

That will help me as I filed my i-485 in april 2004 and filed for my wife's i-485 this June First.

As long as I have sent the my wife's i-485 application, it should be OK -right ?
- I mean even if I get approved before - my wife's i-485 application is still valid - right ?

Great to see so many approvals! I had a conspiracy theory that no one from india will get approved looking atht he way they have racially biased proposed CIR.

Anyone with Substitute labor got approved?

GC_Govinda,

It is entirely possible that the primary gets approved before a dependent but the other way around (dependent before primary) is NOT possible. In your case, the officer might approve you and then your wife may get approval at a slightly later time. If everything with your wife app is in order (name checkl and other security) checks then they may approve the two of your together.

There is nothing to worry. Just monitor both cases closely.

Just wanted to chime in with my big congrats to you. You've been a very good source of info to a lot of people on the forum.
 
Congrats Saras - I liked ur posts. You r a honest person and u always had a good hang of what is going on in the other side based on experience.

Good luck - I used to live in Atlanta before I got layed off and moved to New york, I like that place and I guess u will have a good time in Atlanta.
