 Hi, My case is a little off the norm.
I finished my first Masters started my second and been half way through. Now I am on my CPT, again halfway through working in GE. GE is ready to give me a job but then I have a couple of problems.
Since I am in the middle of my masters and in CPT I dont know how I can transition to H1 and also I am hoping to continue doing my CPT until next October (17 months of CPT!!) by which I hope I can get my H1 visa.

Any thought?

Thanks Guys.

If the company is taking care of your transition as they should, you are fine. Now, if you do more than 12 months of full-time CPT, you are no longer eligible for OPT. That's if you didn't do OPT after your first Master's.

If the school allows you to do 17 months of CPT without interruption - you are fine. The transition of an F-1 student on CPT to H1B is the same one as transition of F-1 student without CPT to H1B.
