Doesn't GC change your status

If i understand correctly, the immigration system here, tags every immigrant by its current status. Some are L1, H1, H4 , through marriage or Asylees like us.
So, my question is once we receive our GC don't our status changes from Asylee to permanent alien, which technically is same as one getting GC through job. Or ...past status still decides how to treat you at Port of Entry from trip abroad. What do you guys think?
Does anyone have an experience at Port of Entry after receiving GC ?
 
I don't see the difference.As PR trough asylum,you are treated the same as any other PR.No more checking room for you.Standing on US-Residents Line.Absolutely yes your status has been changed.You know now when you're gonna be a US citizen while an asylee doesn't know when to apply for citizenship.The thing is don't apply anymore for RTD,think about a Reentry Permit,this new document is gonna make you feel more comfortable compare to the RTD.Now,if people considere asylum status as chronic,cause of it political appearance.Since in your asylum you've claimed to be persecuted by politics,this make you in need of protection indefinitely till the regime changes in your country.If your asylum was based on fake repports,there is no safety concerns on returning home.But if this was based on the truth,my man believe me even if you became a US citizen,you're gonna be arrested when returning home.And this what happens to Cuban-americans and chinese-americans.

So, cadel are you saying that after getting our PR we don't need to worry about being questioned at Port of Entry.
 
No man,keep in mind GC holders are similar to US citizens.No question at the port of entry,no more I-94,just stamp on your travel document.My man at this stage you should be jumping and dancing every single day,cause you already did the most of your immigration lifetime.Now make yourself happy.Boost your life.Travel and enjoy your GC.
