Hi,

I have applied for my EAD renewal two ago. I will have to relocate due to my nature of work. Would the post office redirect the physical EAD CArd when it comes in the mail?

Anything else to be done - so that i do not miss the EAD

Any links (pls point me)

TIA

As per rules..the Post office should not forward any Immigration/Federal Documents..

That is the reason...we need to notify the Immigration Dept abt the change of address..

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I am also in the same boat. I am moving to different state.
I am thinking about 2 options:
Put a hold for few weeks and ask some body to pick up mails for me and send it to me by post. or
Use premium forwarding service which sends you mail to your new address for 10.40 a week fee.
Let me know if this sounds useful. USPS will not send you the EAD card if you just put the change of address notification. Since EAD comes with stamp no forwarding.
Let me know if you found out some better way. refer usps.com and on home page they have options for moving

no, it doesn't get forwarded

Guys,
the PO doesn't forward your EAD. Give a call to your service center and update your address. that should take care of the problem.
If you moved before you received your EAD, you're in for a long delay (30-60 days).

Premium forwarding

So, if we have the premium forwarding service, will they forward any ( and all)
mail?

That would solve the issue? HAs anyone tried it?

TIA

I could be wrong but I don't think that premium forwarding service will forward mail from USCIS. You should ask your PO whether premium forwarding service will also forward mail that has been stamped "do not forward".
let us know.

It is the best thing to apply for adress change with USPS and also with USCIS , very important !!! You also can put a hold on your mail at the old Post Office , and make sure that you'll go and pick it up !!! Do not forget to notify USCIS for adress change , the most important thing of all !!!

You guys are right. Even though I fired ar-11, still my EADs got lost due to my address change. Really painful experience.

That is because filing AR-11 is not sufficient; you have to call USCIS customer service with your receipt number and change addresses on pending I-485 and other petitions.

Change address based on EAD/AP Receipt number?

Hi,

Could we call the INS and provide them a change of address for a specific recipt number?

I should be getting the Recepit number by mail (check got encashed).

Has anyone done that before? This would solve my problem.

TIA

Yes, you should do that but you are also required to fill out an AR11.
