Does time spent outside USA count to 6 years of H-1

Hello, I just need a quick answer for my question, it might be very simple but i could not find it anywhere, I have almost comsumed my 6 years of H-1 and got a job offer, I am trying to switch to O-1 and I am eligible for that, however time is the issue, I was wondering if time spent outside the US during 6 years of H-1 count towards 6 year, i.e. if i used 3 months of vacation and I was not in the states, could ask 3 months more extension, this should give me enough time to complete my 0-1 process...your answer is greatly appreciated....visashy

---YES, file the extension with passport pages that have US entry stamps and request time recapture spent out OF US.
this should give me enough time to complete my 0-1 process...your answer is greatly appreciated....visashy
