Hi,

Any comment on the following message that changed in my I-485 status?

I filed concurrently I-140/485 during sep. 2005 under EB-2. I know that my PD is not current.

Current Status: This case has been sent for a standard interview.

On July 13, 2006, we transferred this case to our LINCOLN, NE location to conduct the interview that is a standard part of processing this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. You will be sent a notice when the interview is scheduled, or if the office needs something from you. ..................

Does it mean my security check/background check/NC is OVER?

My EB-1 I-140 is pending at NSC and I have upgraded to premium. At any time there might be some positive (optimistic) outcome from NSC.

Thanks

INDIA. Got EB-2 I-140 approval on March 1, 2006 and I filed 485 with I-140 during sep. 2005.

Now My EB-1A I-140 is pending at NSC and upgraded to premium. At any time i might get the result. See below my signature for detail.

Hi Madgu,

Same here also I have approved I140 from NIW and applied through EB1a and PP done last week(hope atorney has sent the package). But I am still not able to understand what kind of interview it will be? I have being following your case and waiting to see the outcome. My case is at TCS and hope I also know something in the next week or the other. So did you apply for NIW in sep 2005 and EB1 now? Lets keep in touch and update on the progress.

No I did not get same message

Hi Madgu,

No I did not get same message. I applied again for I485 again cause I was told that it may take more time to transfer and you dont know when one of them may move faster then the other. So I did not wanted to take a chance.

I feel that they may be transfering the case to the local office to ease the work load in the NSC, but hey we don't know how this works :).....Hope today you get some news on your I140 PP :)

Cheers!

What is the A# you got in EB-2 and EB-1 485s. Are the numbers same or different? A# should be same for an individual. check it.

I don't know if your background check was cleared or not. But I do know that this transfer/interview has nothing to with background check. My wife's case was RFE'ed, transferred, interviewed---still, her name check wasn't cleared for more than 2 years... The bottome line is, don't take anything that USCIS did as a sign of name check clearance!

So Why are they transferring the cases to local offices?

Hi Madison,

So why are they transfering the cases to local office and do they have interview process for NIW or EB1? Since you have being to the interview what goes on there? would appreciate your experience.

thanx

Hi Madgu-gc2005:

I got the same message on the 19th.....

but in my case my file went to Newark or it is going to Newark.

PM me please. I would like to discuss this in more detail with you. I am getting some more feedback from my lawyer. According to my lawyer this does not mean that the nc is clear. yet.

Thanks

I don't know exactly why they transferred our cases. My guess is, my wife and I were living in different states (though we had been married for 3 years when we filed 485s) and they wanted to verify the marriage. That's the main point in the RFE's we received. However, I'm really not sure about this, because during both of our interviews at local office, they didn't ask a single question about our marriage and didn't raise any particular point, either. So, in the end, I really don't know the reason behind... Nowadays, I know many NIW or EB-1 people got transferred to local for interview. It's definitely not just for family-based applications.

About the interviews, as long as you have nothing to hide, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about. Very easy; just make sure that you bring with you every piece of document that you could ever imagine... The officer just chatted with us, went through our files, asked some standard questions, and that's it. Mine took less than 5 minutes, plus 15 minutes that was spent in fingerprinting and stamping the passport. My wife's took about 15 minutes, but they couldn't approve her due to name check.
