Does the welcome notice also contain the green card ?

Can anyone tell me if the welcome package also contain the actual GC ? I got an email saying that teh welcome package was mailed ...but I am wondering if this would also contain the GC or that comes afterwards ..

Dont think that is true

we used the Consular Processing Option from Mumbai on June 5th 2007 and came back on the 9th of June thru JFK as port of entry. today on 25th june me and my wife received 2 welcome letters but no Green Card. That Welcome notice has a receipt # and tells us to call at their number if we dont hear back in 30 days.

No Welcome notice will just contain the welcome letter saying "You have been registered as a Permenant resident blablabla...". Unless you are asked to do anything specifically in that letter your card should follow. I got the welcome letter / Card both within span of a week.
