Does the Police clearance certificate require for the US record?

Hello all experts,
I had lived in Los Angeles, CA, USA from 2005 thru 2010.
Should I obtain the police certificate from the US government for period 2005-2010?
And if it is necessary, how long will it take for the paper?

No you do not need that - USCIS already have access to that information.
 
Need Advise on confusion regarding police clearance letter!!!

Dear friends,on of my friend who has just returned from foreign!he had been there as student.he got police certificate easily by following certain process of that country!But now he is in tension; the reason behind is that police certificate is inside envelope.while he was student he had worked more than 20 hours(rule is student are allowed to work only 20 hours per week).According to him most of the foreign student work more than 20 hours and immigration of that country also knows that student are working over hours though it is illigal in rule!!Other matters are everythings fine!so the querry is that getting certificate itself means that he is ok or something wrong also can be written inside?
so please expert i request you all to clearify on this!

If he hasn't been charged and convicted of anything he will be fine.

OPen the envelope. There is no rule that says the police cert must be presented in a sealed envelope!

DO NOT do that with the medical report!

untill and unless if he hasnot been caught or convicted in any matters;may we conclude he is fine as SusieQQQ said??
