Does the petitioner need to attend the interview? It is already costing A LOT for me to fly across Canada and stay in a hotel, my husbands (the petitioner) name wasn't on the interview letter but I just wanted to make sure!

Really?? Even if the letter doesn't say he needs too?? Thanks for the response! GREATLY appreciated!

If you're are requesting a AOS through marriage your petitiones needs to be at the interview. I just went through it and the letter I got for my interview said that my spouse needed to be present.

That is misinformation, ronnyi. To the poster, if you are getting your green card via the immigrant visa route at a US Consulate/embassy overseas, then the petitioner does not have to attend. It doesn't hurt if they can and they do, however.

ok, I'm sorry, I'm just basing my comment on my own experience. My ltter said that my wife needed to be at the interview.

Thanks everyone for the info! I just got an email back from the Montreal consulate and it stated that HE DOES NOT need to attend! I appreciate the advice!
