Does sending fax enquiry to INS help processing the case?

With the recent pace of I-140 processing dates, many of us can send fax enquiry to INS.
My question is does sending the fax enquiry help at all?

Does INS just send the standard reply ? (something ike
"we are working on it. This is taking between 360 and 360 days. You will be notified ASAP").

What do the experienced people say? Please post your experiences ...

My case was filed on Aug 25 2003. I had my lawyer send the fax on Monday and got the following response the very next day

Your case has been pulled and is pending in the division to be assigned to an officer. Due to large volume of cases, the processing time is taking longer than the time reflected in the JIT report. Please allow an additional 60 to 90 days for processing.

Appreciate your patience and cooperation.

The following day the LUD changed but the status remains the same. I am not sure what this means and of it was due to the fax.

ARe you planning to send more faxes? I beileve one can send a-fax-every-15-days. What is
your lawyer saying?

Where can I find more information on Fax enquiry?
The FAx number, letter format etc?
 
It think it only helps when
1. the processing dates online have passed beyond your receipt date.
2. If the case is processed by an officer and there was a rfe which was replied back and still no answer after say 2 months.

Lawyer send the fax enquiry.
