does RFE on I-485 suspend my EAD and AP applications too?

Hi all,

I apologize if this has been answered somewhere, I've done a search but I couldn't find anything.

I've just received an RFE for my I-485. I am feeling incredibly disheartened because I thought I'd done everything right and I am struggling not being able to work or travel... I have a seriously ill family member back home, and my husband and I have an understanding that if anything happens I'm getting on the plane no matter what. I'm just praying I get my AP soon so the "no matter what" doesn't have to mean abandoning our home and life here in the US.

So the question... the RFE is on my I-485 and the notice only says they've suspended my I-485 case until I give them the extra evidence. Does that mean my EAD and AP applications are also suspended? Or is there a chance they are still moving along?

At this point, I am completely ready to give up on the whole thing and just go home (my husband is a dual citizen so it would be so much easier for us to live in Australia) but he loves his job here and we bought a house at exactly the wrong time... I'm trying to tough it out for him because he doesn't feel ready to leave yet. I would feel so much better if I knew my AP and EAD might still be moving along... I love my husband madly but I had no idea being with him would put everything else in my life in limbo for such a long time :(

Technically it does...

But, I had an RFE in my case and yet my AP was approved in 29 days... so, I could not tell you I saw any difference.

If you have an emergency, go to your local USCIS office through an infopass appointment and show them evidence of such emergency, they may be able to send a request to the NBC to expedite the approval of your AP.

I read it somewhere else that if you need to travel during the application process you can go to the local uscis office to apply for an urgent AP and you could get it the same day. But you need to pay about 350 usd.

I heard that if you bring a big pig to USCIS offices, you get 350 usd and a cookie.
