DOes original 797,I-129,LCA rewuired for H4

Get them certified from lawyer. Only LCA and H1 are original docs anyway. It will be better to get it certified all of the copies by the lawyer.
Original will not hurt.

Can i send notarized copy of I-797 for my Wife's H4 Stamping.

She is planning to apply for H4 VISA from Chennai consulate

as i have sent my original I-797 H1 Visa Extension to St Lious
for my H1 Visa Stamping

any body got h4 visa successfully stamped with I-797 notarized copy instead of original document ?

Recently , i have applied for H4visa for my spouse and they asked me to submit the copies of I797 and I129, do u think the photocopies of those docs is enough or we have to get certified or notorized from the Attorney ?

did u get H4 Visa Stamped ?

i thought a notarized copy would be more authentic than a plain photocopy.

Notaries in US are generally not authorized to certify copies of documents. Lawyers are.
It is better to submit the certified copies than mere photocopies. If you have got your h1 stamp at the said consulate, then copy of I797 may pass muster.
You also need to send the photocopies of the visa in your passport.
 
H4 visa

Hai Srini,

We have applied for H4 thru' TTServices on 2nd of May, 2003 and they returned all the docs including PPort with the stamp , 'Application Received' on the PP and the letter saying that it is under 'Administrative Processing ' and take more time to issue the visa under 221(g). We got this reply on 14th of May, 2003. Last week they were asking for all the docs required for H4 Visa and we mailed them yesterday. We are hoping that we will get the visa this time. If u have any comments , let me know.

from the earlier posts in this forum it looks like 221(g) means they require more documentation to issue the H4 VISA

have they specified what documents are required ?

can u please let me know what are all the documents u have send including the ones they have requested

one more request can u specify against each document, if an original or photocopy or a notarized photocopy

if they ask for any specific docs and u provide them, there should not be any problem

are u applying H4 Visa for the first time ?
