Does Ombudsman help resolve I-485 delay issues?

Did anybody try to contact Ombudsman office to seek help regarding the delay in I-485 processing? If yes, did it help?

I am planning to contact the Ombudsman office before trying to contact the senator staff.

I tried infopass and service requests. I did not get a clear answer from them. They kept saying case is pending and wait another 6 months. My case is in NSC and it is pending for almost 6 months. Many people applied after me and already got approved.

USCIS says on their website that they follow the First-In-First-out approach when they adjudicate cases but from my own experience with USCIS I think they follow Random-In-Random-Out approach.

I tried both but I'd say seeking senator's help will be more effective than ombudsman.
Atique.

USCIS does not always delay cases. The problem is with the FBI fingerprint(background check) or name check. If both of these are clear, then contacting the Ombudsman or senator is helpful.
If your case is pending with the FBI, which I suspect in your case, then you will have to wait....good luck

How do I know if my case is in background check or not?
USCIS did not tell me anything about the background check when they responded to my service request. They said it is pending and wait for another 6 months. I hope my case is not assigned to a racist officer who is anti-immigration.
