Does name change affect pending 485?

My wife has her 485 pending on her maiden name. My PD is Aug 2005 for EB2-India, so there is very very long wait till our 485 approvals.
We are thinking of changing her name in her passport to her married last name and subsequently changing the name on the pending 485 (EAD, AP etc).

Now Mr Beuno had replied last month that all background checks have been completed. I dont know how accurate this information is, I can only hope it is :)

So if now her name is changed, will that trigger the name check process all over again?

Any other suggestions? Can name be changed after her 485 approval?

Changing name may trigger NC for your wife again. Since your PD is still far for current it should still be fine

It can be changed any time after approvals also. You need to submit proof of name change with I-90 form to get replacement Green Card (with new name)
