Does my passport is required to be stamped to get H4 visa for my spouse

Hi,

I H1B1 visa in October. I was in US on B1B2 visa. I would like to apply for H4 visa for my family in Bombay. Does cosulate is required to have my passport stamped.

Can you please kindly answer my question.

Normally yes. In your case it is highly likely that US consulate will demand the H1 visa in primary's passport.

Should I go to Canada/Mexico to get my passport stamped or I have to go back to India to do that.

If I can go to Canada/Mexico then do you know which location are favorable. What document they want from me? What kind of question they will ask? Do I get rejected?

It is likely that yr h2 visa stampin canda/mexico will be rejected... So yr choice is..
yr home country...............
