Hi!,

Please forgive me if its a stupid question, but I wanted to know if some company files a lwauit against you, does it impact green card processing.

Lawsuit I am refering to is typical consultant/vendor suit in which consultant joins the client without consent of his/her company.

Really appreciate your advice.

thanks

No.

Answer is based on assumption that consulting company (old employer) filed the case and client (current company) is petitioner on your GC.

Absolutelly NO. No matter what kind of lawsuit has been filed against you, you are innocent until proved otherwise.

Now, if you get convicted, that's a different story. Conviction might impact you GC process (obviouselly) if a serious crime (felony) has been commited.

thanks guys for your reply.

Actually we have our gc in progress.

Now my wife did an assignment at a client site.
She was subcontracted by company B through her employer, A to work at client site C.

Her assignment ended 5 months back and now client C is ready to hire her.
But now we found that she signed a non-competition with company B, to not to join client until 1 year after temnation of assignment.
But her employer A as well as client C has no problems of her joining.

At this i don't know if her contract is valid or not.
But i wanted to seek advice, if just in case something bad happens, if it will impact our green card.

Thanks
