Hi folks,

I got email yesterday from USCIS, it says:

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status

Current Status:
On October 11, 2005, the document we made based on the approval or registration of this case was mailed directly to the person to whom issued.
Does this mean my I-485 has been approved?

My Details:
California Service Center, Catelog: EB1b (Outstanding Professor or Researcher)
I-140, RD: 11/2004; AD: 01/2005.
I-485, RD: 04/2005; AD: Yesterday?

Thanks in advance for your reply.
Good luck all.

I have two questions for you.

(1) Did you ever move after you submitted your I-485?

(2) When did you do your FP? And what kind of FP you did?
For FP, Code 1: 10 fingures. Code 2: Index fingure, Signature, and photo.
Which code FP did you do?

This may help us to get some clue about the email.

Thanks.

Seems like you made an error:

Code 1: Fingerprints

Code 2: Photo

Code 3: index finger, prints of 4 fingers of both hands taken in a set of two fingers on each side (excluding the thumb), signature, Fingerprints of each individual finger (10 in all) and photo

I had a code 3 notice and that's what the lady did yesterday.

Thanks very much for your correction.

One question for you.

Did you ever do FP before? Or is this the first time you were asked to do biomatrics?

In addtion, is that correct that we have to do Code 3 before we get I-485 approved? Or you can get your I-485 approved after doing FP. Then Go to Local Immigration Service to do Code 3 to get your green card?

Many thanks.

Congratulations!

Congratulations! Delightfish and Ans_GC.

I think you got approved. Don't worry!

I got a question for you two to answer:

Are you from India or China?

I went in 2 weeks back to get myself FPed for the 2nd time. This time they took only the Index finger, took 2 photos and a signature sample. One of them looked at my notice and told me that this is the signature that goes on the GC. Not sure if that is true.

sorry to discourage you... But one of my friend's had got the same message 7-8 months back. It turned out to be just an acknowledgement for his change of address. Your case status message doesn't mean that your case has been approved.

Hi ans_gc,

I got a code 2 fp notice. the person at the office also told me that it meant my I-485/green card was approved. can you or anybody tell me if that is correct.

I disagree. I received this letter regarding my 485 several months before
my 140 was approved.
