Does it cost $3000 to file new H1B?

Hello Gurus,

My current attorney is asking for $2700 for filing new H1B Visa petition.

How much does it cost to file a new H1B Visa petition?

I guess the H1B fee is 1500 + Lawyer fee of 1200 = 2700.

Please let me know if the lawyer/company is asking for too much money.

Shop around. The attorney fee should be around $1000 plus the H-1B fees.
 
is this revised h1 fees

my lawyer told me the h1 fees increased with an additional $500-scrutiny fees and some other fees which is $1500 (incase no. of employees greater than 25 or $750 is less than 25) + 185 appn. fees + $1000 premium processing?

is this all right??

Yes, your lawyer is correct.
 
Guys,
My "bodyshopper" company is telling me that it cost them $1500 in attorney fees to do my New H1. This was 8 months back. Would attorneys charge so much ?

This question is coming up now because, they have deducted this amount from my last paycheck, as I just quit the company.

Let me know..

An attorney may charge any amount that a client will pay, but $1500 does seem excessive for a "plain" H1B.

If they are asking you to pay for your H1B, you can always ask for a receipt from the attorney. I do recognize that they are not going to be very helpful any more.
