Does INS mail the approval notice the same day as the case gets approved?

Does INS mail the approval notice the same day as the case gets approved? It\'s been more than a week since the AVM has been updated, but have not received the notice yet. Any recent approvals (6/6) got their notice yet? Do they send the notice to the applicant, or only to the lawyer?

Mine is approved on 6/6, and just got notice yesterday in the mail. I noticed they mailed the letter out on 6/11.
so, it seems they have some mail processing time after they approved your case.
You can call INS to check when did they actually sent out the letter.

Mine was approved on 5/29, and I\'m still waiting for the approval letter. I called my attorney and they didn\'t receive either.

My husband\'s I-485 was approved on May 31. We received his Approval Notice in the mail on June 6, 2001.

Usually it will take between one to two weeks to get the notice.
INS will send the curtesy copy to you and the original to the lawyer.

You can as well get your passport get stamped with your curtesy copy.

If you are going to your local INS for stamping and using you lawyer
copy, make sure you give your current home address.

Thanks a lot for the info. Received my approval notice today, but not for my wife. Will have to verify the address change on her file with INS. Again the same phone call loop!

Anyone had his/her passport stamped in Atlanta, GA ? Please post your experience.
